Leg-No is the name with which Christian Legno is known in the European musical arena. He is largely known as a creator of sounds. Thanks to his passion for hip-hop, his career began in 1992, when, at the age of fifteen, he had his first impact with electronic drums. Leg-No starts producing techno and drum’n’bass remixes for several reggae and hip hop artists while his passion for voice recording techniques keeps growing and characterizing his following tunes thanks to a consistent research of new vocal expressions. He has been playing techno for a long time with the purpose of carring out an original artistic expression.
He succeeded in achieving this latter by incorporating different styles: in 1996 Ultrasuoni Records released his first album entitled “TeknoMobilSquad 01”. This album hit the top in the online techno charts and, thus, the nineteen year old Leg-No established himself in the European hard techno circles. But it’ s thanks to his following four albums - all the way to the “TeknoMobilSquad 05” - released from 1997 up to 2001, together with the ten tracks included in “Take’n’Teeth”, that he became one of the most famous producers in the circle, but above all, a remixer. Through his experience and the development of his creativity concerning his hard-techno, hip-hop, drum’n’bass techniques, Leg-No succeeds in catching the crowds, displaing a unique and neurotic style, while performing in Milan, Turin, Bologna, Germany and throughout the Eastern Europe. Over the years he has been putting himself to the test by experimenting ultra-syncopated rythms and incorporating all these experiences in his sixth album, produced entirely by himself, entitled “Look After Your Own Shit” (2002), a skilful synthesis of both drum’n’bass and techno rhythms mixed up with rap, which conveys a blast of fresh air in his style and starting up a combination with hip hop. His album becomes a foundation in European charts (throughout France, Germany and Spain) and remains a dance floor hit all over Europe, in France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, to name but a few. Leg-No music evolves into a well-balanced fusion of typical tunes: extreme bass lines dotted with synthetic sounds, mixed with dynamic and jumping shuffled rhythms, where the classic beat is replaced by syncopated and broken rhythms. His evolution as an artist results in his meeting with cinema and theatre, becoming very active in these domains as well: produces soundtracks for both cinema and theatre, short motion pictures and documentaries. In 2004 Leg-No launched his own label named TouchResponse Rec. (www.touchresponse.com) in collaboration with other producers and DJs.
At the same time he carries out his collaboration with other record companies. The same year the TouchResponse released a 12” record entitled “ TouchResponse 01”, rated record of the month by several music stores throughout Spain and Germany. Although, despite what the majority thinks, Leg-No has never been a DJ, his live performance rappresents a unique experience that has the power to astonish the crowd.
